Day 2: Thimpu, Taktsang, Paro
In the morning, drive to Satsam Chorten before beginning a hike to the iconic Taktshang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, built around a sacred cave where Guru Rimpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) once meditated. According to legend, Guru Rimpoche flew to this site on the back of a tigress from Tibet and meditated here for three months. The spectacular view of the monastery makes the steep 1.5-hour ascent along a wide mountain trail truly rewarding.
After lunch, continue to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s most ancient and revered temples.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Paro, departure
After breakfast, your Bhutanese guide will accompany you to Paro Airport and bid you a warm farewell.
