Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
Your trip begins with a scenic flight into Paro, where dramatic Himalayan landscapes unfold beneath you. After arrival and meeting your guide, enjoy lunch in Paro before driving about an hour to Thimphu.
In the afternoon, visit landmarks such as the National Memorial Chorten and Buddha Dordenma. If time allows, explore Zilukha Nunnery and Tashichho Dzong. End the day with a relaxed walk through the city before overnight in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu – Sinchula Pass – Camp (2,800 m)
Start the day at the Institute of Zorig Chusum, where students learn traditional Bhutanese crafts.
After lunch, drive past Kabjisa village and begin your trek through pine forests. The trail climbs steadily to Sinchula Pass (3,200 m), offering views of Phajoding Monastery and, further along, Talo Monastery. Descend gently to your campsite at 2,800 m. Today’s hike covers about 16 km and takes 4–5 hours.
Day 3: Camp – Chorten Ningpo – Punakha
After breakfast, continue downhill through dense forest to Chorten Ningpo, where you’ll stop for a picnic lunch.
From here, walk about an hour to meet your vehicle, then drive to Punakha Dzong. Set at the meeting point of two rivers, this historic fortress is one of Bhutan’s most stunning landmarks. Overnight in Punakha.
Day 4: Punakha – Dochula Pass – Paro
Visit Chimi Lhakhang, dedicated to the famous monk Drukpa Kunley. Then drive over Dochula Pass, where 108 chortens stand against a backdrop of Himalayan peaks.
After lunch in Thimphu, continue to Paro. Visit Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong before enjoying free time in town. Overnight in Paro.
